This is a portrait of Devin HevyDevy Townsend, a Canadian heavy metal/rock musician, mostly known for his work with Strapping Young Lad, The Devin Townsend Band, several other cameo appearances in other projects (such as Ayreon's The Human Equation), his past role as Steve Vai's guitarist, and his own solo career.

[link] His song Vampira from his album, Synchestra. As you can see, he's just simply plain awesome.

He's an awesome composer of progressive metal, and considering his achievements, I decided to draw him. On top of that, I thought the picture was great.

Devin Townsend is like my own personal bi-polar god. :P

I'm actually listening to Ocean Machine right now - my favourite album ever made.

I've actually not been listening to too much of his stuff, pretty much just Synchestra and Ziltoid the Omniscient so far, but I'm sure I'm gonna try more - he's fucking brilliant!
