I hear ya brother.... I had some nasty lonely times myself. Long periods.. it sucks.. but ya know, you can always work, write, draw, sleep.... go out and get drunk!

All I can say to this is join the club. In the last couple of months I've had to get used to being lonely again. The hurt is slowly going away, but there are times I miss Nick even though he was a jerk about the whole thing.

Bad thing is, when I get too lonely, I go shopping and I can't really afford it . I'm slowly, piece by piece replacing my wardrobe, turning it into a more feminine type and trying to get away from the tomboy style.

Hell, I'm re-learning to walk with my head held high emitting an air of confidence. And apparently its working because some guy almost got into an accident the other day craning his neck to watch me walk - I was in jeans and a t-shirt.

Drowning your pain in shopping does indeed sound not much like such a good idea.
It's good that you're looking more attractive to other people - if not for them, than at least for yourself!

Well actually going out and getting drunk isn't such a good idea seen as I'm on sleeping pills and that would mean the end of my liver, but drawing and reading are actually great medicine!

That's just it, I'm doing it for myself. There's no point in doing it for other people. You've got to accept yourself for how you are before you can expect anyone else to accept you.
