So I finished reading Stephen King's The Stand on Friday. Definitely the best book I've ever read, but that's not saying much since I haven't read that many. Next in line, Stephen King's The Shining and then The Green Mile. Then I think I'll take a S.K break and read Cormac McCarthy's The Road, which would mark the third post-apocalyptic book I read, after The Stand and Earth Abides by George R. Stewart. Highly recommended book, by the way!

Anyway, during my break from reading I've been drawing quite a bit, getting a lot of progress done on my fucked-up auto-portrait, which will be named "I, Paranoid". You can guess what it'll look much like (;
It looks quite nice I think, and people at work who saw me working on it in between people coming in kept complimenting it, making me blush over and over again. Never getting used to getting complimented, lol.

Anyways, that's about all that's been going on in my life this boring week.

Have an awesome week everyone!

I can never bring myself to watch movies about books that I've read. Maybe the other way around.

I like to see the movies based on books I've read or vice versa to see how closely they followed the book. With The Stand - its a toss up; the book was excellent - as is all of his work - the movie was also well done: though had it been up to me, I'd have chosen someone other than Laura Sangiocomo to play Nadine Cross. Maybe its because I've seen her in a lot of roles. Some I liked her in, others I didn't and I didn't care for her as Nadine Cross. But I did like her in Saving Grace.

She isn't pretty enough to be Nadine!

No she isn't. I pictured Nadine as a Salma Hyek type or Carmen Electra or someone pretty like them. And they made her character so mousy that it wasn't funny.
