I find it opaque that a pair of incredible musicians, namely Paul Simon and Art Garfunkel, have been ignored by me for such a long time. As someone who relishes great music, I'm so glad to be back on the S&G wagon, haven't listened to them for such a long time.
But there is something incredibly melancholic about a lot of their music. Something about the simplicity of two voices, an acoustic guitar, and the occasional bass and orchestration that simplifies all emotions to a state of total bareness.
The Sound of Silence, Bridge Over Troubled Water, Benedictus. Just put it on and wipe the saltwater from your cheeks.

Causing everything to seem clear. Hauntingly, disturbingly clear. As clear as a droplet of saltwater slowly making its gently sinuous journey down a cheek.

Switch to: Swallow the Sun.
