the same thing happened to my sister- she didn't give her the drawing but they remained friends.
i would probably wait until things get clearer or better if i were you, just to show her that if she doesn't care so do i, BUT if her friendship means a lot to you i'd probably do what said

Well, she is sort of important to me, though she isn't half as important to me as she used to be. I guess making a copy and having her realize why it is a copy that she's receiving is a good solution.

And I don't need to wait for things to clear up, it happened quite a while ago but I've still been debating the idea.

Life's too short for grudges anyway. Perhaps doing this might go some way to mend any issues between you (even if the onus shouldn't be on you to do the mending). And if not, at the end of the day at least you can say you're a man of your word.
